2011 Asbestos Training Schedule

MICROBIOLOGICAL (MOULD) CONTAMINATION IN BUILDINGS
Over the past number of years there has been an increased awareness as well as considerable interest in the presence of mould contamination in buildings, and the association between mould growth and adverse health effects. Although there are many other conditions that can adversely affect Indoor Air Quality, mould is perhaps the one condition that at present is the least understood among building occupants, managers and owners. The course is intended to provide attendees with a better understanding of how mould is identified, how to interpret reports and laboratory results, and successful remediation strategies.

HOW TO EMPLOY

ENVIRONMENTAL SITE ASSESSMENT, REMEDIATION AND BASELINE STUDY
Senior PLEL environmental professionals have developed extensive training programs in environmental site assessment, remediation and baseline study. They have held positions as guest lecturer and adjunct professor at Dalhousie and Memorial Universities and have also delivered training sessions to groups in the property management, financial and legal sectors. Training has also been delivered internationally to environmental professionals. Through the Canadian International Development Agency, several missions have been completed in the State of India by a PLEL Senior Professional who held workshops in New Delhi, Chennai and Indore.

Training modules, ranging from one or two-day workshops to full-scale field demonstration programs, can be developed to meet specific client needs. These programs can be accompanied by a variety of instruction manuals developed for various aspects of environmental work.
