Asbestos Survey of Over 390 Buildings
In
2003, PLE was retained by a federal agency to conduct a survey
for Asbestos-Containing Materials in 396 buildings in a Labrador
community. Structures ranged in size from less than 100 square
metres to greater than 10,000 square metres.
All facilities were surveyed to identify the location, extent
and quantity of asbestos, to identify potential human health concerns
and to evaluate levels of airborne asbestos. Our services included:
document collection and review
comprehensive surveys
bulk and dust sampling/analysis
an extensive QA/QC program
air sampling and analysis
designing and implementing a data management system
development of an Asbestos Management Plan
Over 1,500 bulk samples were analyzed in our laboratory. Air
samples were also analyzed using portable equipment.
